Red Tara is a powerful manifestation of Tara, the goddess who embodies awareness of all phenomena. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the practice of Red Tara centers on transforming material desires into compassion and love through the ritual known as the Mandala of Wish-Fulfilling Essence. This ritual includes yoga, healing practices, and teachings that help practitioners understand the nature of the mind while cultivating compassion.
The empowerment ritual for Red Tara was originally taught by Amitabha Buddha and passed down through various esteemed figures in Tibetan Buddhism, including Avalokiteshvara and Padmasambhava. Guru Rinpoche entrusted the knowledge to his consort, Yeshe Tsogyal, who hid it as a treasure to be revealed when it would be most beneficial to practitioners. It was later rediscovered by Lama Apong Terton, and passed down to prominent lamas such as Sakya Trizin and Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, who helped spread the practice worldwide.

100% COTTON CANVAS & NATURAL MINERALS
Preparing the Cotton canvas before starting to paint a Thangka. This process includes washing, drying, stretching, sizing and everything needed to make a perfect base for the thangka to last for centuries.
Thangka paintings are painted using natural minerals such as agate, gold, silver, cinnabar, saffron, ocher, rhubarb,lapis and many other minerals. To create the ideal pigment for painting, these materials are ground several times. This makes the materials even more durable and long-lasting. Thus, you can surely expect the color of the Thangka to withstand the test of time.
The gold in the ornaments and detailing is made from real gold dust.

It arrived from halfway around the world in perfect condition, and it’s sound was so luminous, I decided to buy the whole set!!
