About Way To Heaven Thangka
The Way to Heaven Thangka is a deeply symbolic representation of the journey towards spiritual control and enlightenment. This Thangka visualizes various symbols and stages that illustrate the process of transforming the mind and gaining mastery over one's thoughts and actions. Each element in this painting is a profound metaphor for the struggles and tools needed to achieve spiritual awakening and inner peace.
The Path: The path depicted represents the way to complete control of one's mind, with each symbol reflecting one of the six powers: hearing, contemplation, mindfulness, alertness, and familiarity.
The Elephant: Symbolizes consciousness, representing the mind and its capacity for growth and transformation.
The Monkey: Represents mental agitation or emotional disturbances that prevent mental peace and focus.
The Rabbit: Symbolizes the fluctuations of the mind, reflecting the instability of thoughts and emotions.
The Stick: Represents alertness—a tool to control the unruly elephant (consciousness) and gain mastery over distractions.
The Rope: Held by the monk, symbolizing mindfulness, the key to binding the mind and fostering control.
This Thangka also depicts five objects or causes of mental agitation, each of which triggers distractions in the pursuit of enlightenment:
The Silk Scarf: Represents touch.
Peaches: Symbolize taste.
Water in a Conch: Represents scent.
Cymbals: Symbolize sound.
A Mirror: Represents form.
The fires in the Thangka symbolize the struggle for control over the mind. As one progresses along the path, these struggles diminish through familiarity and practice, leading to a state of enlightenment. In the final stage, represented in the cave, the practitioner reaches bliss and ecstasy—a state of elated bliss achieved by realizing the wisdom of emptiness, which banishes ignorance and unveils the truth.

100% COTTON CANVAS & NATURAL MINERALS
Preparing the Cotton canvas before starting to paint a Thangka. This process includes washing, drying, stretching, sizing and everything needed to make a perfect base for the thangka to last for centuries.
Thangka paintings are painted using natural minerals such as agate, gold, silver, cinnabar, saffron, ocher, rhubarb, lapis and many other minerals. To create the ideal pigment for painting, these materials are ground several times. This makes the materials even more durable and long-lasting. Thus, you can surely expect the color of the Thangka to withstand the test of time.
The gold in the ornaments and detailing is made from real gold dust.
A very serious company that delivers on its promises. I purchased a thangka surrounded by damask fabric. The craftsmanship was excellent, and I was amazed by the quality and colors. The material arrived, well packaged, two days earlier than expected, despite having been shipped from Nepal.
A well-deserved five stars.
Makes the room I have it in burst with color and invites me to truly appreciate the dedication and mindfulness that went into it, encouraging me to put the same effort into my own daily endeavors.
I had debated whether I’d just get my own frame for my mandala instead, but now I’m so thankful I got the silk brocade frame. It does so much to elevate the beauty of the mandala and invite me to look at it with intent every time I pass it. Well worth it!
Received thangka within a week, packing are very nice and well protected. When open time, it was shock me, a very beautiful and nice thangka. It really hand painted, like what the description. End up will buy again, thanks ...............
So happy with our stunningly beautiful Thangka painting
We received our beautiful Thangka painting in the United States 6 days after purchase. The quality is absolutely exquisite. There were no surprises; we could not be happier with our choice. The website picture was an accurate representation of the product. We would not hesitate to buy another painting in the future should we have space to hang it. Thank you Art of Tibet!
If you’re wondering about 50 percent off deals with this company - they are the real deal - the thangka I received was absolutely worth full price. Earlier I had a statue arrive broken and they absolutely stood by their product and made more than right. I highly recommend this seller and will continue to buy from them - Russ
I’m completely satisfied that I chose to add the silk frame because it sets off the sacred quality I attach to the Amitabha thangka especially well. It took a moment to decide which id choose because of the excellent selection offered!
This thangka was my first purchase from Art of Tibet and I’ve been very pleased with the quality of the art, their efficiency in producing and delivering it, and the rich addition it makes to my life. I’d recommend this line of craft and those who make it available around the globe.
Spectacular Kalachakra, shipped to protect and preserve
The mandala arrived in a thin gauge 1.5" hard plastic pipe, not a crushable cardboard tube. It was taken to an artist who's done custom framing for over 40 years. When the mandala was rolled out she was stunned by it's colors, beauty, gold highlights, detail and intricate designs in multiple (as was I) and had never seen anything like it in her 40 years. It will receive 99% UV protective, non reflecting museum quality glass with a color matched frame. She was awe struck when I explained it's basics, the wheel of time, and how what she was looking at is duplicated in 20-ft. x 20-ft. by multiple monks in sand for a ritual. She asked why the artist didn't sign it and I explained that would be a egoic act and thoroughly juxtaposed to the impermanence of all all things as the wheel of time ensures. Thank you very much for the rapid shipping and exquisite high quality Kalachakra Mandala. May all at Art Of Tibet enjoy good health and full hearts. Om, Thomas
I am more than satisfied with the beautiful craftsmanship of this mala. It has quickly become my favorite to use for teaching & practicing Kundalini yoga & gong healing. The attention to detail, handsome design, and quality of materials are even more profound than looking at the online picture.
